Nigel started sailing as a boy and simply fell in love with the sea and small boats. He sailed a Mirror dinghy, built by his father, and before long the family graduated to a Wayfarer dinghy, named Mavourneen. Mo had never sailed and once married to Nigel realised it was time to learn! They bought their first small cruising boat, Mooncat, in 1980 but quickly outgrew the 19foot single cabin arrangement as the family came along. Subsequent trading gave them bigger boats including Westerley Fulmars, Bavaria’s 37, then a Sunbeam 44 before finally settling on a new Sunbeam 42 in 2014.
They have extensively sailed the south coast of England, northern France and the Channel Islands and from 2008 the warmer climes of the Adriatic became irrestistible.
